It's a jolly holiday with you Gab... |
It is not surprising, given her less than regular heritage, that Gabriella has turned out to be somewhat of an oddity. She is a diamond in the rough, no doubt about that, but a strange one. Her tastes are, well, tasteful. They are, however, completely arbitrary, that is to say not based on merit (hence marrying me!) If I were to offer her a pair of jeans one day she could come up with a number of reasons why she didn't want them and the next day I could offer her an identical pair and she would lap them up. There is no telling what she will truly love, one can make educated guesses, but guesses they will be. In terms of food she seems to be of the opinion that meals come ready made from some kind of tree, an enchilada tree, a tuna-fish pie tree etc. The funny thing about this is that she is actually quite a good cook. Her tastes for food are more stringent than anyone else I know, she pretty much measures the chunks of chicken in her enchiladas to make sure they aren't too big. Her favourite meals are essentially those she has grown up with and the things she doesn't like are, by and large, just the things she hasn't tried before. She loves cheesy doritos, tapioca, frazzles, salt, sugar, happy cows milka bars, anything cranberry and lashings of cheese in or on any dish.
Anything I say here can only really scratch the surface but I don't want to do my favourite person an injustice by stopping where I am.
She is very thoughtful, conscientious, loving, happy and clever. Though she reads very little she knows everything about regency fashions (because T.V is so much better than books of course!) She is funny and loves to have fun. She makes me very happy and I am a very, very lucky man for having known her, let alone married her.
How perfectly you have captured the very essence of Gavri. Never has a truer diamond been plucked from a rougher rough.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'm not sure I have ever been to a silent dinner at the Farley household. There has always been at least a quiet sobbing from a corner.
